Country’s First ‘Kisan Rail’ Inaugurated, Will Run Between Deolali To Danapur

India’s first ‘Kisan Rail’ started today. This train will go to Bihar from Maharashtra. Through a video conference, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar flagged off the country’s first ‘Kisan Rail’ from Deolali in Nashik district of Maharashtra to Danapur in Bihar.

On this occasion, the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare said that Kisan Rail will help in transporting agricultural products, especially perishable produce at cheaper rates, and this initiative will help farmers in getting a fair price for their crops.

Kisan Rail is a weekly service, which will run from Deolali every Friday at 11 am and reach Danapur at 7.45 pm the next day. In return, this train will leave from Danapur every Sunday at 12 noon and will reach Deolali the next day at quarter to eight.

In one round, this train will cover a total distance of 1,519 km in 31.45 hours. During this time, Nashik Road, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Satna, Katni, Manikpur, Prayagraj, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction and Buxar will stop.

Narendra Singh Tomar said that Indian Railways operated 4,610 trains on 96 routes to ensure the supply of food items across the country amid the Covid-19 epidemic. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, who presided over the event, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken many measures for the welfare of farmers and this will make the country’s farmers self-reliant and prosperous.

Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi, Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Devendra Fadnavis, Minister of Maharashtra Government Chhagan Bhujbal were also present in this virtual ceremony.
