Met Gala 2024: 7 of the chicest celebrity pairs who turned heads on the biggest night in fashion.

Several famous couples turned heads at the Met Gala 2024 thanks to their amazing taste. Let’s examine who donned what and make some fashion observations.

The Met Gala 2024 was an incredibly glitzy affair, with stars showing off their creative and stylish sense of style with lavish gowns. On Monday, May 6, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City hosted the annual fundraiser. The dress code for the event was “Garden of Time,” and the subject was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” As is customary, a number of high-profile pairs attracted attention with their stunning appearances and endearing interaction, and this year was no exception. Some chose to keep things calm, while others lit the night up with embraces and kisses. The couples’ ability to pull off stylish matched outfits that left people in awe and redefined elegance was what never changed.

Most Chic Duos at the 2024 Met Gala

Waititi Taika and Rita Ora

With striking clothes, Ora and Waititi demonstrated their fashion expertise as a pair. Ora looked stunning in a Tom Ford gown designed by Tom Eerebout. The gown was adorned with colourful fringes that flowed down to the floor, giving her a mesmerising and striking appearance. Waititi, on the other hand, chose a chic Marni suit made of opulent brown leather, which elevated their matched ensemble.

Corey Gamble and Kris Jenner

Jenner and Gamble both made a strong fashion statement as they arrived in similar white ensembles. The Kardashian star chose an enormous Oscar de la Renta dress with matching gloves that emphasised the white rose pattern and the big floor-sweeping train. Her partner, on the other hand, added refinement to their well-coordinated ensemble with a chic white suit from Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino.

Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky

When Chris Hemsworth wore a beige Tom Ford suit over a clean white button-down shirt, he looked like a modern-day Prince Charming. Pataky chose a long-sleeved gold viscose turtleneck dress and delicate gold shoes that nicely matched his attire. Their combined Met Gala look was the epitome of refinement and grace.

Union Gabrielle and Dwyane Wade

Gabrielle dressed gracefully in an ombré white and green mock-neck gown that resembled shimmering scales in the light, giving off the enchanted impression of a mermaid, in keeping with the “Garden of Time” theme. Dwyane, on the other hand, went for a violet purple suit, black shoes, and a cream v-neck.

Defrancesco and Marc Jacobs

A powerful fashion statement was made by Marc Jacobs and Char Defrancesco as they coordinated in similar black suits that included black jackets, bow ties and fitting slacks.

Cameron Dove and David Damiano

Dove Cameron attracted attention when she wore a deconstructed Diesel flowery gown with detachable sleeves and a flowing train. Her long blonde curls and simple makeup were enhanced by a bright red lip. In the meantime, Damiano completed their arresting look with a Diesel outfit that included a black suit with lace cutouts.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban both looked stunning as they walked the red carpet together. Keith looked amazing in a black tuxedo with a matching bow tie, polished black shoes, and a clean white button-up shirt. Nicole, on the other hand, went for a strapless black and white gown with connected white full sleeves and a dramatic black furry train to liven up her sophisticated appearance.

Stephanie Hsu and Zosia Mamet talk about their new series Laid, and some of the horrors of dating as millennials.
Imagine a scenario where anyone and everyone you have ever been intimate with begins to die one by one. Is it a curse? If yes, then who is cursed? These are questions that Stephanie Hsu‘s Ruby battles with in the new zany comedy, Laid. Ahead of the show’s release, Stephanie and co-star Zosia Mamet spoke exclusively with HT about their roles, the show’s unique premise, and the horrors of dating as millennials. Stephanie Hsu on her character’s flawed morality

Laid, created by Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna, is the story of Ruby (Stephanie Hsu), who discovers that all her sexual partners are dying one by one, and she must warn them. Helping her in this unique quest is her best friend AJ (Zosia). The fun thing about Laid is that the protagonists are not the usual likeable characters. “She is totally an anti-hero of our story. I really love that,” says Stephanie, referring to Ruby’s moral greyness. “I am not a perfect person and I love playing flawed characters. But it was difficult. The creators told me that she is a total narcissist. But narcissists don’t think they are one, so I had to figure out a way to love her. For me, playing Ruby was about getting into her psychology and finding the innocent part of her – which is that she just wants love,” the actor adds.

While sitcoms usually add the best friend as the voice of reason trope, Laid diverges from that, with AJ even zanier and more morally ambiguous than Ruby. Talking about playing such a colourful character, Zosia Mamet says, “When you play not-so-likable or zany characters, people don’t believe they are that way. I don’t think AJ wakes up every morning and thinks, ‘I am absolutely crazy’. It’s about trusting the writing and finding an organic way into these characters to make them seem grounded, real, and relatable.”

Stephanie, Zosia reveal the worst gifts they received from partners

In Laid, Ruby gives the gift of death to the men she is with, even if that is inadvertent. Ask the women about the worst ‘gift’ a partner has ever given them, and the discussions veer into the unusual horrors of modern-day dating. “I got a vintage wooden duck decoy from someone. It was broken, and I thought, ‘What does this say about our relationship?’. They didn’t know me well enough to know if I’d want this but also that they gave me something old and ailing,” Zosia says with a laugh.
