Modi to inaugurate second campus of Kolkata’s cancer institute

Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans to unveil the second campus of the Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute in Kolkata on Friday. She said that the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, will also attend the inauguration ceremony in a virtual way.

“Tomorrow at 1 o’clock in the afternoon, January 7th, I will participate in the plan to unveil the second campus of the Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute in Kolkata. The institute will enhance the health care capabilities of eastern and northeastern India,” Modi on Thursday Wrote on Twitter.

The new campus is equipped with modern facilities such as nuclear medicine (PET), 3.0 Tesla MRI, 128-slice CT scanner, radionuclide treatment unit, endoscopy suite and modern brachytherapy unit.

“I will participate in this project virtually from my office in Kalighat. I don’t want to go to the Secretariat of State to attend a meeting because high-level bureaucrats have to be called. I don’t want officials to get sick. Several officials in important departments have tested positive,” Banerjee Zhou Four said. She added that her two drivers and an office attendant also tested positive.
