Mumbai airport’s Terminal 1 to resume operations from today
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaji International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai will reopen its Terminal 1 domestic flights tomorrow (October 13). GoFirst will resume all domestic operations from Terminal 1 on October 13.
“Terminal change alert! Fly/fly away from #Mumbai? Make sure you understand the latest terminal changes before you leave!” GoFirst tweeted. Earlier, Adani Airport Holdings Co., Ltd., which took over the management of CSMIA in July, has notified the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and other stakeholders of its decision to transfer the domestic flight operations of the four airlines to 1 Terminal number.
On October 8th, due to the surge in traffic during the holiday season, flights were delayed, and in some cases, passengers missed flights. Therefore, measures were taken to promote the operation of Terminal 1. The private airport operator stated in a statement that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will resume operations from T-1 on October 13, instead of the previously announced 10 Midnight on the 20th. Up to now, CSMIA is operating all domestic and international services of T2, mainly for overseas flights.
A CSMIA spokesperson said in a statement. On October 4, Mumbai Airport announced the reopening of its domestic passenger terminal T1 from midnight on October 20, and stated that GoFirst, AirAsia India, Star Air and TruJet will resume all from Terminal 1 from midnight on October 20 Domestic operations. However, some of IndiGo’s flights will resume from October 31st, most of its flights will be operated from T2, and base flights will be operated from Terminal 1. After the deadly second wave of pandemic hit the country, Mumbai airport authorities suspended T1 flight services in mid-April and transferred all operations to T2, mainly for international connections.
