‘Murders take place when young people get emotional’: Pakistan defence minister on Sialkot lynching
In anger at the lynching of a Sri Lankan man by a mob in Pakistan, Defense Minister Pervez Khattak stated that the case should not be related to the government’s decision to lift the ban on the Pakistan Labour Party (TLP), a radical political party, according to local media. Reports, large-scale anti-French protests.
According to a report in the Dawn, the Minister of Defense also stated that “when young people are emotional, murder will happen”. Peshawar. The reporter asked whether the Pakistani government led by Tehreek-e-Insaf of Imran Khan was considering “effective suppression” of groups such as TLP. On Friday, a factory manager Priyantha Kumara Diyawadana was executed by a mob in Sialkot. He was accused of blasphemy. Later, the mob burned his body. Several creepy video clips shared on social media showed a group of thugs beating their victims while chanting slogans against profanity.
This incident triggered national anger and condemnation, and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan called it a “day of shame” for the country. The killing was related to members of the TLP, but the organization has distanced itself from the incident.
“You also know the reason [behind this incident]. When children… grow up, they become energetic and do things out of emotion,” Khatar told reporters. “This does not mean that’this is the result of that action’,” he added, adding, “There are also some young people in Sialkot who gathered to accuse Kumara of disrespect for Islam. This has led to “Suddenly” lynching, according to Liming News.
Hatak went on to say that even when he is emotionally high, he will do wrong things, and such an incident does not mean that “Pakistan is heading for destruction”.
Hatak also stated that boys entering adulthood are “ready to do anything” and learn how to control their emotions as they grow older.
