Parliament Winter Session Live Updates: Manickam Tagore moves adjournment notice in LS to discuss Lakhimpur Kheri

The government will submit the Central Vigilance Committee (Amendment) Act 2021, the Delhi Special Police Agency (Amendment) Act 2021, and the National Pharmaceutical Education and Research Institute (Amendment) Act 2021 in Lok Sabha on Friday.

While the opposition continued to protest the suspension of 12 members of Parliament near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, the BJP also held its own protest at the location.

Earlier in the day, MP Manickam Tagore moved a motion to adjourn the meeting in Lok Sabha to discuss the Lakhimpur Kheri incident and the removal of Federal Minister of the Interior Ajay Kumar Mishra.

Amid ongoing opposition protests against the suspension of 12 lawmakers, the federal government passed the 2019 Dam Safety Act in Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

Several opposition parties criticized the center for infringing on the rights of the states on this issue, and the United Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat rejected these claims.

At the same time, a marathon debate on the Covid-19 pandemic was held in Lok Sabha, discussing a wide range of topics, including Omicron variants, booster doses, third wave disease, and vaccination of all eligible populations.

As many as 74 members participated in the debate, while other members put their speeches on the table in the chamber.

Kangana Ranaut has denied speculations about joining politics solely due to the box office failure of her films.

Kangana Ranaut, the BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi for the 2024 elections, expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her political entrance. In an interview with Times Now, she questioned whether she joined politics due to her movies’ poor box office performance, comparing it to Shah Rukh Khan’s previous unsuccessful films.

Kangana responded to a question about her career, stating that she has never had a flop. She compared Shah Rukh Khan’s films to Pathaan, Queen, and Manikarnika, noting that if she had a flop in Emergency, it would be a big hit. Kangana compared her career to Shah Rukh Khan, who had consecutive flops for ten years. She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.

No stars from OTT?

The last generation of stars, known for their talent and demand, are now able to showcase their talents more through OTT. However, the author expresses a desire to involve themselves more with the real world, rather than being consumed by the arts, stating that they are not satisfied with the current status quo.
