Review of Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga: Yami Gautam steals the show while Sunny Kaushal fumbles through a challenging hostage drama

Neerja set a high benchmark for hijack drama, and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga is no different, but not as bad as Neerja. Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga blends elements of a Hindi commercial film with unexpected twists and turns.

Review of Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga: Yami Gautam really pulls off her role and shines in every scene.

Ankit Sethi (Kaushal) and Neha Grover (Gautam) plan to steal diamonds worth ₹120 crore from a hijacked flight, but their plan is thwarted by uninvited guests. Singh captures the tension in the plane, but the hijackers appear undertrained and messy.

Singh’s clever direction and Gianni Giannelli’s cinematography add to the chaos, while Charu Thakkar ensures a crisp editing.

Gautam is confident and carries a swag, while Kaushal is good but not great. Onscreen romance is just there for the sake of it. Indraneil Sengupta as flight marshal Sushandhu Roy is wasted, while Sharad Kelkar as RAW Deputy Shaikh is a delight to watch.

Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga is an entertaining and suspenseful film that is now available on Netflix.

Family Star review

The Hindustan Times’ review of the movie Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Parasuram Petla, suggests that the film struggles to make a mark or entertain, with issues reminiscent of Geetha Govindam (2018). The film tests patience and fails to maintain interest as it progresses.

The review criticizes the plot of Family Star, stating that it is thin and defies logic, making it difficult to enjoy. It also suggests that the film’s portrayal of middle-class life is caricaturish, as if it was written by someone unfamiliar with the realities of such a life.
