Schools, Colleges in Maharashtra to remain closed till October 31 under extended lockdown guidelines

Maharashtra Schools are to remain closed till October 31 as a part of extended lockdown. As there is no relief in the number of pandemic patient in the state of Maharashtra the Government has decided not to reopen any educational institution such as schools, colleges and coachings in the state. As per the notification issued by the state government online and distance learning would be permitted and encouraged.

The phase-wise reopening in the state was titled Mission begin again by the government of Maharashtra. Under the disaster management act, the state executive committee has released a document with revised guidelines to contain the spread of COVID19. The lockdown has been extended until midnight of October 31, 2020, now.

The government has issued directives in which the people would have to wear face coverings at all times at their places of work, work from home would be a preferred mode of working, social distancing has to be strictly followed and gatherings are to be avoided.

Under Activities That Remain Restricted Are :

  1. Reopening of schools and colleges postponed till after October 31, 2020
  2. Hotels, food courts, restaurants and bars can operate from October 5 with a capacity not exceeding 50 per cent or as prescribed by local authorities
  3. Cinema halls, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres in malls and market places, auditoriums, assembly halls would also continue to remain closed.

A separate Standard Operating Procedure would also be issued by the tourism department for precautions to be taken while operating these establishments. The railways would also increase the frequency of local trains in the MMR. Local trains in Pune region will restart with protocols and procedures adopted in the MMR. The government is planning for a phased reopening of activities in the state with ease of operations. The number of cases in Maharashtra has been the highest till now.

The Greater Noida authority is set to issue a tender to finalise a contractor to build a 1.5km stretch of a key road connecting LG Chowk to the education hub in sector Knowledge Park 3. The private firm owning the land has agreed to give it away for the road project after 15 years of negotiations. The authority will build a central verge, drainage network, horticulture.

Greater Noida is set to build a bridge across the Hindon river, connecting the education hub road to Noida’s busy areas. The work has been expedited after resolving a land dispute, as the road will witness heavy traffic once the bridge is ready. The authority will build a central verge, drainage network, and horticulture work to beautify the road, which has experienced frequent.
