Senior actors reportedly told Sarika, “aise heroine thodi na hoti hai,” in the past.
As an actress who has been in the industry for over two decades, Sarika has seen it all. She has worked with some of the biggest names in Bollywood, and has even won awards for her performances. However, it seems that not everyone in the industry has been a fan of her work.
According to a recent report, some senior actors have told Sarika that she’s “not the kind of heroine” they’re looking for. The report claimed that the actress was told she was “too old” and “not desirable” enough for certain roles.
While it’s certainly disappointing to hear that Sarika has faced this kind of discrimination, it’s also not surprising. Unfortunately, ageism is rampant in Bollywood, and many older actresses have been pushed out of the industry because of it.
Sarika is just one of many actresses who have been told they’re not good enough because of their age. It’s time for Bollywood to start changing its attitudes towards older women, and give them the respect they deserve.
