Tata Projects wins Chennai Metro contract worth ₹2,000 crore

Tata Projects has received orders from Chennai Metro Rail to construct a nine-kilometer underground rail section with four stations at an estimated cost of Rs 1,999 crore. The company said on Wednesday without disclosing the order price that the project is part of Chennai Metro’s phase two and corridor three and falls between Venugopal Nagar and Kelly station.

A company source said that the project is worth Rs 1,999 crore.

The work includes a total of 18 km of infrastructure work from Venugopal Nagar to Kelly Station which includes construction of nine km of twin underground tunnels.

This work has to be completed in four years.

Raman Kapil, vice president of Tata Projects and head of the metro and tunnel business unit, said he had received a letter of approval from the Chennai metro authorities.

Tata Project is also executing underground metro projects in Mumbai and Pune and has completed the underground section of Lucknow Metro.

Tata Projects operates through its four strategic business groups – Industrial Systems, Core Infra, Urban Infra and Service Units.

The company works on projects such as power generation companies, power transmission and distribution systems, fully integrated rail and metro systems, commercial buildings and airports and chemical plants.

The Adani Enterprises unit has received a letter of approval for an NH project in Maharashtra

Adani Road Transport Ltd (ARTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has received LoA for a project involving six laning of Kagal-Satara section of NH-48 (old NH4) in Maharashtra. The project will be executed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana at ₹2,008.47 crores. The construction period for the 67-km long road project is expected to be 2 years from the date of appointment and the concession period will be 18 years.

With this project award, Adani’s road portfolio will have total 14 projects with more than 5,000 lane km with asset value exceeding ₹41,000 crore spread across India.
