The family of actress Noor Malabika Das breaks their silence about her passing and reveals that she battled depression.

According to authorities, actor Noor Malabika Das, who starred alongside Kajol in the 2023 web series The Trial, was discovered dead in her Mumbai apartment on Monday. They believe she committed suicide. Her family has now revealed that the late star battled depression, according to a story published in The Times of India.

“She went to Mumbai full of hope.”

Noor Malabika Das was from Karimganj in Assam. Speaking to the media from their Karimganj family home, her paternal aunt Arati Das described the late actor as someone who “went to Mumbai with big hopes to become an actress.” She was working very hard to accomplish this, though. We recognize that Malabika was driven to take this drastic action because she was dissatisfied with her accomplishments.

Her latest appearance was in The Trial, starring Jisshu Sengupta and Kajol.

On Sunday, police carried out her final ceremonies.

stated that Noor Malabika Das’s body was “recovered in a decomposed condition” from her Lokhandwala apartment, and that her neighbors had notified the police after smelling a bad stench coming from her house.

According to a Mid-Day report, on June 6, authorities found Noor Malabika Das’s death in her Lokhandwala apartment. During the course of the house search, the cops allegedly gathered her cell phone, medication, and journal.

The Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO, which manages the cremation of unclaimed bodies in the city, helped the police on Sunday execute her final rites after no one came forward despite efforts to contact her family, according to the Mid-Day story.

Rule Breakers, directed by two time Oscar winner Bill Guttentag, explores themes of resilience and defiance in Afghanistan. The film is set for a release in March 2025.
