Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh today and will transfer approximately Rs 10 crore to the bank account of the Self-Help Group (SHG), benefiting approximately 1.6 million female members of the Self-Help Group.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the transfer was carried out under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM), of which 80,000 SHGs received a Community Investment Fund (CIF) of Rs 11 lakh per SHG And 60,000 SHG received a revolving fund of Rs 15,000 per SHG.
The press release read: “Prime Minister Modi will visit Prayagraj on December 21 and participate in a similar program involving more than 200,000 women at around 1pm.”

The plan is based on the vision of the Prime Minister, empowering women by providing them with the necessary skills, incentives and resources, especially at the grassroots level.
The plan will also witness the Prime Minister encourage the business journalist-Sakhis (BC-Sakhis) to deposit 4,000 rupees as a first month allowance into the account of 20,000 BC-Sakhis.
When BC-Sakhis starts working as a primary financial service provider, they will receive a six-month stipend of 4,000 rupees so that they can work stably, and then start earning income through trading commissions, PMO informed.
During the plan period, Prime Minister Modi will also transfer funds totaling more than 200 million rupees to more than 100,000 beneficiaries under the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Sumangala plan. The program provides conditional cash transfers to girls at different stages of their lives. The total transfer amount for each beneficiary is 15,000 rupees.

“These stages are at birth (2,000 rupees), completion of a full year of vaccination (1,000 rupees), category I admission (2,000 rupees), category VI admission (2,000 rupees), and admission-IX (3,000 rupees), Enter any degree or diploma program after passing the X level or XII level (5,000 rupees),” it added.
In addition, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for 202 supplementary nutrition manufacturers. These units are funded by self-help groups, and the cost of constructing a unit is approximately Rs 1 crore.
The PMO said in its announcement that these units will provide supplementary nutrition in 600 neighborhoods in the state under the Integrated Child Development Plan (ICDS).
