Tunnel excavation work of SJVN’s Naitwar Mori HEP completed
Public Sector SJVN Ltd. Said that it has completed the excavation work of a 4.3 km long tunnel (tunnel carrying water from the channel) for the 60 MW Natwar Mori Hydroelectric Project in Uttarakhand.
“SJVNL Chairman and Managing Director Nand Lal Sharma pressed the last blast button on the occasion of the completion of the excavation of 4.3 km long Head Race Tunnel of 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydroelectric Project in Uttarakhand,” the company said in a statement. ‘
The project is expected to generate 26.55 crore units of electricity every year. Uttarakhand will get 12 percent free electricity as royalty.
Sharma also inaugurated the newly constructed office complex, transit camp, and township ‘Yamuna Complex’ at the project site.
He expressed satisfaction with the work related to the project. Later, while addressing the employees, he said, “…This project will help in fulfilling the commitment of the Government of India to provide 24×7 electricity to all in the country. Also, it is an important step towards SJVNL’s target of becoming a 25,000 MW capacity company by 2040….”
SJVN is constructing its own transmission line of about 37 km long for transmission of power generated from this project which is targeted to be completed by April 2022.
The commissioning of this project will benefit the surrounding area and especially the project-affected families as they will be provided an amount equal to the cost of 100 units of electricity per month for 10 years.
SJVN is also undertaking various development works in the vicinity of this project under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The Adani Enterprises unit has received a letter of approval for an NH project in Maharashtra
Adani Road Transport Ltd (ARTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has received LoA for a project involving six laning of Kagal-Satara section of NH-48 (old NH4) in Maharashtra. The project will be executed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana at ₹2,008.47 crores. The construction period for the 67-km long road project is expected to be 2 years from the date of appointment and the concession period will be 18 years.
With this project award, Adani’s road portfolio will have total 14 projects with more than 5,000 lane km with asset value exceeding ₹41,000 crore spread across India.
