Uorfi Javed was imprisoned in Dubai after filming while wearing a skimpy outfit: Report
In late August, Uorfi Javed, a YouTuber with nearly 300,000 subscribers, was arrested in Dubai after she allegedly filmed herself wearing a skimpy outfit in public. According to a report by Gulf News, Javed could face up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $5,000 if she’s convicted of violating the UAE’s public decency laws.
This isn’t the first time Javed has gotten in trouble for her risqué content. In July, she was arrested in Pakistan for wearing a short dress in a video. She was later released on bail.
It’s unclear why Javed was in Dubai when she was arrested. However, it’s possible that she was there to shoot more videos for her YouTube channel.
Javed’s arrest highlights the double standard that exists for women in the Middle East. While men are free to wear whatever they want, women are expected to cover up their bodies in public.
If Javed is convicted, she could be sent to prison and fined. But her case could also set a precedent for other women who want to push the boundaries in the UAE.

Huma Qureshi has expressed her support for Sania Mirza, despite the absence of her husband Shoaib Malik. Sania Mirza has travelled to Medina to offer prayers with her family, including her son Izhaan Mirza Malik, parents, sister, and husband.
Sania and her son, Anam, posed with their parents, Imran and Asaduddin, on a field with mountains in the background. Sania also shared a mirror selfie from her hotel room with Anam in her arms and Imran standing in front of her. She geo-tagged the location as Medina, Saudi Arabia.
Sania captioned the post, “Allhamdulillah (palms up together emoji) May Allah accept our prayers.” Irfan Pathan wrote, “Ameen,” Huma Qureshi posted, and Rakshanda Khan said, “May Allah accept all duas!” Sania Malik’s husband, Shoaib Malik, is not in the video.
Sania and Shoaib allegedly ended their 12-year-long marriage and welcomed their son Izhaan in 2018. They were seen hosting The Mirza Malik Show on Urduflix.
Anam and Sania are grateful for the opportunity to experience peace and joy in Alhamdulillah. Sania’s pilgrimage to Hyderabad was attended by many celebrities, including Mahesh Babu, Namrata Shirodkar, AR Rahman, Dulquer Salmaan, Huma Qureshi, and Diana Penty.
