Virat wears turban for shoot with Anushka, fan calls it ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi 2’

Pictures of hijab-wearing Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma in an unattractive Desi avatar emerged on the set of a commercial shoot on Wednesday. The paparazzi photos were reportedly clicked at Mehboob’s studio in Mumbai.

In the photo, Virat can be seen wearing a simple hooded shirt, likely playing a Sikh. In one of the photos, he can be seen on his phone. Anushka wore a salwar suit on set with a mask on her face.

Fans applauded Virat’s new avatar when the images were posted on social media by fan clubs and paparazzi. “Shooted for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi 2,” quipped one fan, referring to Anushka’s debut with Shah Rukh Khan. “Virat I’m so excited,” another fan wrote.

However, some cricket fans were saddened by Virat’s decision to skip the Indian cricket team and shoot a promotional video. “Bhai yar Century bhi marde (brother lived at least a century)” one fan wrote. “Yahi Karlo Cricket Chhodke (leaving cricket and doing it)” added another fan.

Until recently, Virat was part of the Indian cricket team in the ongoing series against the West Indies. He was rested and allowed home last week, meaning he missed the remainder of the series. The BCCI has said the break was given to allow Virat to spend time with his family after being in a bio-bubble non-stop for several consecutive series.

Photos of Anushka training for the upcoming film Chakda Xpress went viral on Tuesday. The actor plays Indian cricketer Juran Goswami in the film, which is inspired by the life of a fast bowler. Anushka was spotted training the net for the film at a compound in Mumbai.

The film, directed by Susanta Das, will be released on Netflix but has no official release date. The project was announced last month in the form of a teaser video revealing Anushka as Jhulan.
