WhatsApp is soon expected to get 5 new features: Check details

WhatsApp is developing a series of features and is expected to be released in the near future. According to reports, the company plans to add a new option, a new disappearing chat feature and a redesigned group information page. WhatsApp may also allow you to send high-resolution videos or images soon. Keep reading to learn more.

New option last seen: In the near future, WhatsApp will add the ability to hide the last time a particular contact was seen. WaBetaInfo has discovered this feature and is expected to launch a stable version soon. The source cited reported that the new options will be available to iOS and Android users.

The messaging service is set to add the “except my contacts” option in the privacy settings, which will allow users to enable last seen for specific contacts. This feature is very useful when you don’t want to show someone when you’re online on WhatsApp. It is important to note that if you do not share your last meeting with anyone, you will not be able to see the last meeting of other people.

Disappearing chat: We will see a new disappearing chat feature soon. According to WaBetaInfo, this model will be suitable for one-on-one chats and groups on WhatsApp. This function is an extension of the existing disappearing message function.

The upcoming disappearing chat feature “will automatically convert new chat threads into temporary chats.” People will find this in privacy settings. Once enabled, all messages in each new chat or group will disappear within a short period of time.

If they don’t want to delete all messages, they will have to turn off the disappearing chat feature. The source cited stated that WhatsApp will notify the user when the disappearing message mode is enabled in a new chat. This feature was recently discovered in the 2.21.18.7 WhatsApp beta.

Group icon editor, redesigned group information page: This Facebook-owned company is also developing a new group icon editor feature, which has been discovered in the Android beta version 2.21.20.2. The new feature will allow users to quickly create icons for groups when there are no images. People will also get an option to choose the background color of the icon. WhatsApp can also provide emoji and stickers as options.
In addition to the group icon editor function, the messaging service is also committed to redesigning the group information page, and users may see chat and call buttons in the front and middle. According to WaBetaInfo, this redesign was discovered in the 2.21.190.15 WhatsApp for iOS beta. The new design seems to provide larger buttons for chat, audio and video calls. Administrators can also share the invitation link. These two features will be launched soon.

High-resolution videos or photos: WhatsApp performs a lot of compression on videos and photos to help users quickly send them to their contacts. However, not many people are satisfied with sending poor quality media. According to WaBetaInfo, the company will soon bring a new feature to the app, allowing users to choose the quality of video or photo uploads. The report shows that users will soon be able to choose between “best quality” mode, “data saver” mode, and automatic mode, which will determine the quality of the video clips you share.

Converting images to stickers: WaBetaInfo just recently reported that the messaging app is planning to add a new feature that allows users to convert their images to stickers. When the feature is rolled out to users, when they upload a new picture on the app, they will see a new sticker icon next to the title bar.
