World Cancer Day: Warning signs of common cancers everyone should know about
Considering that the signs and symptoms of this deadly disease only begin to appear in its advanced stages, early-stage cancers remain undetected. Many times, cancer may be detected “by chance” through laboratory tests or X-rays. To catch cancer early, there are some early signs that everyone should be aware of.
Celebrate World Cancer Day 2022 on February 4 each year to spread awareness and education about the disease and prevent millions of deaths worldwide each year. The theme of this year’s World Cancer Day is “Closing the Care Gap”. We are doing a lot to bring quality cancer care to countries.
On this World Cancer Day, Dr. Mukul Roy, Consultant Consultant Radiation and Clinical Oncology at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, shared with HT Digital the warning signs of common cancers.
what is cancer
“Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells. It can come from anywhere in the body. It’s made up of tiny cells that have lost the ability to stop growing. This mass grows and has the ability to spread and involve areas other than the tumor. Dr Roy said this The growths will then protrude until they reach a size large enough to be noticed by the patient or doctor.
Here’s a list of some potential cancer symptoms that shouldn’t be ignored
- Any lump or swelling in the breast or elsewhere.
- Any sores that do not heal.
- Abnormal bleeding or discharge.
- Difficulty or pain in swallowing
- Changes in warts or moles.
