Xiaomi Redmi 10A and Redmi 10C tipped to launch in India soon

Xiaomi is expected to launch the Redmi 10A and Redmi 10C soon. Last year, the brand did not launch any entry-level smartphones, focusing mainly on mid-range and high-end products. Now, the new devices are expected to launch under the Redmi A and Redmi C series. According to a report by Xiaomi UI, the company plans to bring the devices to India, China and other global markets.

According to reports, the Redmi 10A has the codenames “Thunder” and “Light”, while the Redmi 10C has three codenames – “Fog”, “Rain” and “Wind”. The cited sources suggest that both Redmi smartphones could be powered by MediaTek chipsets, similar to the older versions.

They are expected to feature three cameras on the back. The setup could include a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5KJN1 sensor or an OmniVision OV50C sensor. It can be paired with an 8-megapixel secondary ultra-wide sensor and a 2-megapixel OV02B1B or SC201CS macro camera. The remaining details are still being kept under wraps.

The upcoming Redmi 10A and Redmi 10C are likely to be the successors of the Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C, respectively. Citing sources, the new entry-level smartphone could be priced below Rs 12,000 in India. Currently, the Redmi 9A is priced at Rs 7,499 in India, which is the price for the base 2GB RAM + 32GB storage model. The 3GB + 32GB storage model is priced at Rs 8,299.

The Redmi 9C is not available in India and is being launched in Malaysia for RM429 (~Rs 7,500). This price is for the 2GB + 32GB storage model. It’s important to note that Xiaomi has yet to confirm the launch of the Redmi 10A and Redmi 10C, so one should take these details with a grain of salt.

Meanwhile, the brand is gearing up to launch its Redmi Note 11S in India on February 9. A poster released by Xiaomi shows that the device will come with a quad rear camera setup. It has been suggested that the device may support 4G connectivity, not 5G. Apart from this, the company will also launch the Redmi Note 11 series in global markets on January 26. The lineup could include Redmi Note 11 4G, Redmi Note 11 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+.
