Yash requests that Karnataka residents recognise Bollywood after the popularity of south Asian films: “We had the same issue”.
Bollywood is one of the most popular film industries in the world, and its films are loved by people all over the globe. However, there are some people who still don’t recognise Bollywood as a separate entity from the south Asian film industry. Yash, a resident of Karnataka, has requested that the people of his state recognise Bollywood so that the industry gets the credit it deserves.
He said, “We had the same issue. People would watch our films and think that they were from the south Asian film industry. It was only when we started calling ourselves Bollywood that people began to recognise us as a separate entity. I think the same thing needs to happen in Karnataka. People need to start recognising Bollywood films so that the industry gets the credit it deserves.”
