Why is it important to promote Body Positivity in Fashion Industry?
Looking through social feeds is all silly buffoonery until you begin checking out yourself through friendly channels. You unconsciously compare yourself and the ideal life-as projected in the posts of the big names, companions, or your associates, and afterward, the sky comes tumbling down! It causes you to feel uncertain, and you become more extreme on yourself.
We frequently devote a lot of time, certainty, or ability to self-perception or appearance. On account of the unreasonable body norms much of the time lectured by society, we are dazed into accepting that certainty is the result of an ideal body. These negative assumptions and ideal body norms have been engraved far somewhere down in our psyches causing large numbers of us to feel unsatisfied with ourselves.
It’s no secret that the fashion industry has been promoting unrealistic beauty standards and this has badly affected society in terms of body image. We see those beautiful models, dressed in pretty clothes, with makeup by an entire team of people to make them look the way we see them and we often compare our bodies to them, which is wrong on many levels. Promoting body positivity in the fashion industry is one of the most important social steps that we need to take in terms of creating awareness.
In recent years, we have started to see some changes in the industry as well. Many big brands are promoting body positivity and are standing up to the quote “Everybody is a beautiful body”. They have been promoting plus-size models, black models, models with various skin conditions and heights. This has been a very positive step from the industry in promoting body positivity but we still have a long way to go.

At the 2024 Gold Gala, Halsey, wearing a Sabyasachi lehenga, makes a big impression beside her boyfriend Avan Jogia.
Halsey was present at The Music Center’s 2024 Gold Gala on May 11 (May 12 IST) in Los Angeles, California. The singer of the song “Without Me,” along with her partner Avan Jogia, made a spectacular entrance at the third annual event. They were dressed in gorgeous traditional outfits from the designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s own label. Halsey’s Sabyasachi Mukherjee lehenga outfit is available in a variety of vivid colours, such as mustard green, orange, gold, red, green, baby pink, black, and forest green. The choli is a vivid shade of red with elaborate gold jaal embroidery on the round neckline and rose designs all over it. The blouse also has fitting silhouette, cropped hem that exposes the stomach, and full-length sleeves.
The top was accessorised by Halsey with a low-waisted lehenga skirt that had multicoloured panels adorned with intricate gota patti embroidery, floral designs, sequin work, and gold thread embroidery. The design features were completed by the wide borders, pleated fall, A-line shape, gold Sabyasachi logo decoration and floor-grazing hem length. To add the last touch, Halsey wrapped a net dupatta across her arms and shoulders. It has sequin embroidery, a scalloped hem, floral appliqué work, and adorned gota patti borders.
Halsey added eye-catching jewellery to the look, such as emerald earrings, gold bangles, statement bracelets, a navel ring set with diamonds, and statement rings. The singer sculpted her face with loose braided strands, fringe and curls to wrap together her hot pink locks in a sloppy updo. She selected gold eye shadow, darker brows, caramel pink lip colour, berry lip liner, rouge on the cheeks, winged eyeliner, mascara, and glowing highlighter on the contours as her beauty choices.
Regarding Avan Jogia, he looked good with Halsey wearing a maroon bandhgala sherwani that had full-length sleeves, an open front, cushioned shoulders, and multicoloured floral embroidery. He paired it with maroon straight-fitting trousers and an off-white bandhgala shirt with floral embroidery. It was completed with a clipped, rough beard, heeled Chelsea boots, stacked necklaces, a single gold earring, a dishevelled hairstyle, and a gold and emerald chain belt.
