Sanjay Leela Bhansali asked to choose between Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone, explains why neither could do the other’s roles

Bhansali collaborated with Alia for the first time in the recently released Gangubai Kathiawadi. Deepika was his muse for the longest time; they’ve worked together on three films–Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat.

Bhansali: Deepika is a beautiful girl, wonderful actor. For me, for me Alia is a very beautiful girl. You cannot give the wrong role to the wrong actor.

I feel what casting I’ve done, keeping their essence, is the right casting. So, what Alia did for this role, only Alia could have done.

The film is based on the true story of a brothel madam who works to bring reforms in the lives of sex workers. It has already made over Rs 63 crore in less than a week of release.

Cannes 2024: On his debut, Prateik Patil Babbar becomes emotional at Mother Smita Patil’s Manthan screening.

Cannes 2024: For those who are unaware, actor Prateik Patil Babbar, who starred in Ekk Deewana Tha, is the son of Raj Babbar and the late actress Smita Patil. Additionally, Smita Patil, the mother of the actor, will receive recognition at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where her film Manthan will be screened. Prateik will also be walking the red carpet at Cannes for the first time this year. The actor responds before making his red carpet debut on how thrilled he is to be seeing his mother’s film play at the largest film festival. For Prateik, the occasion is “very symbolic,” he says. See what else he has to say about his mother, let’s investigate.

Prateik Patil Babbar’s Reaction to Mother Smita Patil’s Cannes 2024 Film Screening

Manthan, a 1976 film starring Smita Patel, will be shown at the Cannes Classics section. “My mother is going to be celebrated,” Prateik declares as he boards a plane to France to attend the largest film festival on the planet for his mother’s film. It’s a significant occasion for my family and me. Particularly for me, it has great symbolic meaning. I’m a really happy son.” He continues by saying, “This moment reminds me of how amazing a woman she us and how I am lucky to be her son.”

A few days prior, Prateik learned that Manthan was being screened. Fortunately, his visa came two days ago. So he bought the tickets to France and put all his work on wait. Prateik recalled that Manthan was a crowd-funded movie, with each farmer contributing two rupees to its production. “I always knew about it,” Prateik added. I used to hear my grandmother and aunt recount the film’s creation tale. As my grandpa was a farmer as well, I was always encouraged to take pride in my ancestry.” He said, “Also, I revisit my mom’s films very frequently, it’s like watching FRIENDS for me- you know what’s going to happen next, but you keep watching.”

(for me).”
