Nayanthara’s film is set in a bus and is a race against time thriller

Nayanthara’s upcoming Tamil film O2 will be released exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar, bypassing theatres. The teaser for the film was released on Monday, and based on the visuals, it appears to be a race against time survival thriller set entirely inside a bus. The film, directed by GS Viknesh, will see Nayanthara fight for her son’s survival, who is sick and requires oxygen support.

The majority of the film is set inside a bus that has crashed into a deep pit, and the passengers must remain calm in order to survive. Nayanthara tells the passengers that they only have 12 hours to live. She is seen with her sick son, who is on oxygen. This will be the third Nayanthara film to have a direct OTT premiere rather than a theatrical release, thanks to Dream Warrior Pictures.

Nayanthara recently starred alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Sethupathi in Vignesh Shivn’s romantic comedy Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal. Nayanthara played Kanmani Ganguly, a character in the film who falls in love with Vijay Sethupathi’s character, who is also loved by Samantha’s character.

Nayanthara is currently awaiting the release of Godfather, a Telugu film starring Chiranjeevi. In the film, which is a remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer, she plays his sister.

PS Vinothraj directed the movie.

Family Star review

The Hindustan Times’ review of the movie Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Parasuram Petla, suggests that the film struggles to make a mark or entertain, with issues reminiscent of Geetha Govindam (2018). The film tests patience and fails to maintain interest as it progresses.

The review criticizes the plot of Family Star, stating that it is thin and defies logic, making it difficult to enjoy. It also suggests that the film’s portrayal of middle-class life is caricaturish, as if it was written by someone unfamiliar with the realities of such a life.
