Priyanka Chopra discusses her experience as an immigrant in the US as she introduces her home furnishings line: “I abandoned my roots”

As she introduced her new home furnishings line, Sona Home, Priyanka Chopra talked about her experience as an immigrant living in the United States and leaving her roots behind. The performer claimed that with Sona Home, she attempted to introduce a small element of her Indian ancestry to American homes. She also discussed how difficult it was for her to establish a second home for herself after moving to the country for work and eventually marrying singer-actor Nick Jonas.

Priyanka Chopra shared the information on her Instagram page on Wednesday. In a video, she and Sona Home co-founder Maneesh Goyal displayed the items from their line of home furniture. The actor said, “The core of Sona Home to me is family, community, and bringing people together, which is the thing about our culture in India,” when discussing her new company.

Maneesh continued, “If we’re having takeaway or a fantastic party, we want it to seem like it’s so much fun. Whatever we do with our friends or family should be anchored in culture and home, and should give us the feeling that there is nowhere else we would rather be.”

Priyanka went on, “Sona Home is founded on that. It has its roots in turning a house into a home. It was developed to foster community building among family and friends. And as an immigrant from India, that seems to me to be extremely significant. I moved away from home, but I came back to find you, my friends, and my family. This is my adopted nation, and you guys are my chosen family. And to be able to introduce the tradition of the region in which I grew up into households across America.”

In the caption of the video, which said, “I also talked about relocating to America,” “To introduce Sona Home to you all, I could not be more proud. Coming from India and establishing America as my second home was difficult, but my travels brought me to a place where I was able to build friends and a second family. This is an outgrowth of the idea that I infuse a little bit of India into everything I do.” In a different post, she also included images of the items in her home furnishings collection.

For her next Amazon Prime Video series Citadel, the actor recently finished scheduling. Additionally, she is working on the albums Ending Things and It’s All Coming Back To Me.

Kangana Ranaut compares herself to Big B, saying, “After Amitabh Bachchan, if someone has received so much love…,” to which internet users respond, “best joke.”

Even though Kangana Ranaut has been receiving a lot of attention for her public talks, her comparison of herself to Amitabh Bachchan at a recent speech at an election rally has generated a lot of controversy online.

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who is well-known for her blunt remarks, is presently engaged in the Lok Sabha election campaign. She is a candidate for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Himachal Pradesh district of Mandi. Although her statements in public have garnered a lot of attention, her comparison of herself to Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan in a recent speech at an electoral rally has sparked a lot of conversation online.

“Aisa lagta hai ki mano itna pyaar aur itna sammaan, ki wo Kangana, chahe Rajasthan chali jau, chahe mai West Bengal chali jau, chahe mai Delhi chali jau, chahe mai Manipur chali jau, sara desh hairaan hai… Meher daave se keh sakti hu ke Amitabh Bachchan ji ke baad aaj kisiko industri me milta hai to wo mujhe milta hai (The entire country is startled… there seems to be so much love and respect everywhere I go, whether it Rajasthan, West Bengal, Delhi, or Manipur). At the gathering, she declared, “I can state with confidence that, after Amitabh Bachchan, if anyone receives such love and respect in the industry, it is me.

Since then, the video of her statement has gone viral and sparked a range of emotions from online users. Despite her recent run of box office disappointments, many people have expressed sarcasm over her comparison to one of Bollywood’s most beloved legends. After releasing her final successful movie in 2015, Kangana has a string of 15 consecutive failures. As it shared the video on X (previously Twitter), a verified parody account said, “Here she is comparing herself to Amitabh Bachchan 😂😂.”

Another Twitterati said, “Judging by her speeches, Kangana Ranaut might be the first actress in the nation to get a national award for her role as an election candidate.”

It was called the “best joke of the year” by one user and the “peak level of self-obsession” by another.

“The next stage of self-obsession is this.” Following a string of poor performances, Kangana Ranaut equated herself to Amitabh Bachchan. According to a verified X account that supports the Congress, “Nobody has ever insulted Amit Ji like this before.”

In response, another Twitter user sent a photo of the headline of an old news story detailing Kangana’s 2022 action film Dhaakad’s poor box office performance—which ended up being a huge failure. The headline stated, “Dhaakad box office collection: Kangana Ranaut’s film sells 20 tickets and collects Rs 4420 on day 8.”
