Amitabh Bachchan recalls how his dad wrote letters to fans, posted them himself

During a time when handwritten letters were popular, Amitabh Bachchan recalled the era and claimed that his father, the renowned writer-poet and philosopher Harivansh Rai Bachchan, used to reply to all of the fan letters he got. “My dad used to send out a tonne of letters to his friends and admirers. He used to write between 50 and 100 letters per day, and he used to reply to each and every letter individually. He used to just deliver letters to our homes. Amitabh mentioned handwritten letters when a contestant named Jyotirmayee revealed that she works as an Assistant Superintendent of Post and that her husband is also an Assistant Superintendent of the Post Office. We used to respect them a lot and thought of them as proprietary.
