Anisha Padukone, Ranveer Singh’s sister-in-law, makes a joke while he cries on stage

Ranveer Singh recently broke down in tears at an awards ceremony when praising his sister and dad for helping him succeed. He addressed them as “God,” saying that all he does in life is for them. He said, “Mere ghar me Laxmi hai (there is Goddess Laxmi in my home)” while crying before bringing his wife Deepika Padukone on stage and kissing her on the cheek.

Ranveer posted a video from the occasion on Instagram on Saturday with the description, “POV (point of view): you’re living a dream.” In the video, he is seen accepting the Filmfare best actor award for his role in 83 and giving his acceptance speech. Ranveer, who is a little emotional, states, “Everything that happens in my  life is beyond my wildest imagination. Most of the time, I can’t even believe that I am here, doing this, standing in front of you all. I am in disbelief everyday that I became and actor. It’s a miracle.”

Thanking his family, he adds, “Sabse bada dhanyawad to main aapka karna chahunga (I want to thank) the audience, for being a part of my journey and allowing me to live out my dream. Main jo kujh bhi hu apne maa baap ki wajah se hu, aur apne didi ki wajah se hu. Wo mere liye bhagwan hai. Main jo kujh bhi karta hu bhagwan ke liye karta hu, aur jo kujh bhi hu bhagwan ki wajah se hu. Mere ghar me Laxmi hai (What I am today is because of my parents and my sister. They are my Gods. Whatever I do is for them and whatever I am today is because of them. Goddess Laxmi resides at my home). Here’s the secret of my success. Ranveer Singh powered by Deepika Padukone.”

Anisha Padukone, Deepika’s sister and a golfer, cracked a joke about watching Ranveer cry on stage and asked, “Who is cutting those awful onions? Abhishek Bachchan, an actor, responded to Ranveer’s video as well. In the comments area, he included a heart emoji.

Ranveer most recently appeared in the box office dud Jayeshbhai Jordaar. He will soon appear alongside Alia Bhatt in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. He also has Cirkus, a comedic movie from Rohit Shetty.

After collaborating with Alia Bhatt, director “ki band baj jaati hai,” Vasan Bala explains why

Vasan Bala, who directed Alia Bhatt in the ill-fated Jigra, has opened up on his experience working with the actor.
Vasan Bala collaborated with actor Alia Bhatt for the first time this year in the jailbreak thriller Jigra. While critics praised the film, it did not work at the box office. A minor controversy erupted around the time of the release when a statement from Vasan about producer Karan Johar sending his half-baked script to Alia was misconstrued. Now, the filmmaker has opened up on his experience working with Alia, emphasising that she spoils her directors.

Vasan Bala on working with Alia Bhatt

In an interaction with Mashable India, Vasan said, “I think every director who I love should get an opportunity to work with Alia Bhatt. They will be spoilt and then unki agli film mein band bajegi (They will suffer in their next film),” adding, “She has no entourage, nothing, she is always ready. Sometimes, I didn’t even have to communicate how I wanted a scene; a gesture from my end would be enough for her to understand what I needed in that shot.”

The filmmaker also recalled a day on set when both he and Alia let loose and welcomed a more fun environment on the otherwise grim film set. “Usually, sets are funny, but this film lacked humour, so the environment on the set used to remain quiet serious. This one day, we had a lighter day, and we were just chit-chatting and laughing,” he added.
