Gal Gadot admits her viral Imagine cover was ‘premature, in poor taste’

In the first few months of the pandemic, actor Gal Gadot released a video of her singing John Lennon’s “Imagination” with other actors, which caused controversy. Although Gale said she meant a sign of unity, she was ridiculed for insensitivity and elitism. Now in a recent interview, the actor admitted that the video is of poor taste.

In March 2020, Gale posted a video on her Instagram, in which she and other actors Kristen Wegg, Natalie Portman, Will Ferrell, and Zoe Cravy Both Tsz and Jamie Donan are singing “Imagine”. According to Gal, this should be a statement of solidarity with those fighting Covid-19. “We are together, we will tide over the difficulties together,” she wrote in the post. However, she received a lot of opposition, and many people criticized the video for being sound-deaf and elitist.

In a recent interview with InStyle, Gale publicized the controversy. “For the whole imaginary controversy, it’s very interesting. I called Christine and I said, “Listen, I want to do this. “The pandemic came here (to the United States) in the same way in Europe and Israel. I saw the direction of everything,” she said. The actor went on to admit that it was too early to make the video and had poor taste. “But it’s too early. It’s not the right timing, and it’s not the right thing. It tastes bad. All pure intent, but sometimes you don’t hit the bullseye, yes,” she added.
Gale will appear in Kenneth Branagh’s multi-star mystery drama “Death on the Nile”, which includes Annette Benning and Russell Brand ( Russell Brand, Emma Mackey, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Ali Fazal, Dawn French , Sophie Okonedo and Letitia Wright and other actors.
