Today, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated with full devotion and excitement all over the country on Bhadrapad Shukla Chaturthi. Due to the Corona epidemic, this time Ganesh Puja programs are not happening on a large scale. People are celebrating the ganesh chaturthi in house only.

According to Hindu mythology, Vighnaharta Shri Ganesh Ji was born on this day in the mid-day. In such a situation, the idol of Ganesha should be installed on this day and should be worshiped with Durva and Modak. .

Ganesh Chaturthi auspicious time:

Pooja auspicious time: 11:07 Am to 01:42 pm
Evening Time: 4.23 pm to 7.22 pm
Night Time: 09:12 pm to 11:23 pm

Worship material: Paan, Betel nut, Laddu, Sindoor, Durva

Ganesh Chaturthi Puja Vidhi:

On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, take bath early morning and chants the Ganesh mantra.

Om Gan Ganpataye Namah: Chant the mantra.

After this, keep the idol of Ganapati or his picture on a red cloth in the auspicious time. Then after spraying Ganga water, invoke Lord Ganesha. Offer flowers, sindoor, janeu and durva (grass) to Lord Ganesha. After this, offer modak ladoos to Ganapati, worship them with chants. Read or listen to the story of Ganesha, recite Ganesh Chalisa, and finally perform Aarti.

Worship the Lord and place the red cloth on the outpost. Along with this, fill coconut in a vase and place coconut on top of it and keep it near the checkpoint. Recite Ganapati Aarti, Chalisa at both times. Distribute Laddus in Prasad.

Ganesh Mantra:

Chant these mantras at the time of worship. Distribute modak and laddus as prasadam.

It is considered inauspicious to see the moon on Ganesh Chaturthi. It is said that Lord Ganesha cursed the moon once, whoever sees the moon on Chaturthi will be stained. Since then people do not see the moon of the fourth.

Don’t permit movement of Kanwariyas for ‘Ganga Jal’ amid COVID-19: Govt to states

The Center has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court urging the state government not to allow the movement of kanwariyas to bring ‘Ganga water’ from Haridwar in view of COVID-19.

The court issued a notice to the Uttar Pradesh government and the central government and sought an answer as to why the Kanwar Yatra should be held.

The central government said that “In view of the possibility of the third wave of corona epidemic, no such program should be allowed where the crowd gathers, however, keeping in mind the religious sentiments of the people, the state governments should make such a system to make the sacred water available via tankers at designated locations.”

The Center asked the Supreme Court to make tankers available at identified/determined places, so that nearby devotees can collect ‘Ganga Jal’ and perform ‘abhisheka’ at their nearest Shiva temples.

The Center further tells the Supreme Court that state governments should ensure that the distribution of ‘Ganga water’ among devotees and devotees in nearby Shiva temples by such rituals is mandatory to ensure social distancing, wearing of masks, and prevent the spread of COVID-19. All steps required to be followed during the Covid-19 crisis.
