Instagram to roll out ‘take a break’ feature and ‘nudge’ teens away from harmful content

In order to make Instagram a safe place for young users, this photo sharing app will now introduce a feature to keep young people away from harmful content and encourage them to “take a break.”

According to Reuters, the new feature was announced by Nick Clegg, Facebook’s vice president of global affairs. Interestingly, a few days ago, a former Facebook employee became a whistleblower and made a shocking statement about Facebook hurting teenagers. Clegg told CNN, “We will introduce something that I think will make quite a difference, that is, our system sees teenagers viewing the same content over and over again, and this content may be detrimental to their well-being, and we will Prompt them to view other content.”

In addition, he revealed that the company is developing a feature that will require teenagers to take a break from the platform. However, the company did not give a specific timetable for the planned launch of new features. Earlier this month, after facing strong opposition from child safety advocates, the company stopped its plans to launch Instagram Kids for users under 13 years of age. At the same time, Haugen, a former employee who became a whistleblower, has testified before a Senate committee on her experience on Facebook.

She also called on Congress to take severe action against the social media company because it was suspected of being a teenager on Instagram. Create a toxic environment.
