iPhone SE 3 5G launch tipped, Apple may already be planning event

Apple may kick off its series of events in 2022 in March or April. And this event may be dedicated to the launch of nothing else but an iPhone. According to a new report, Apple may launch the next-generation iPhone SE sometime in March or April. The event planning is already underway, and a virtual event is likely to take place in at least two months from now.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has said that the 5G model of the iPhone SE could arrive in “just a few months.” Citing his sources, Gurman said that Apple will at least launch the next iPhone SE, which means that while this upcoming event will mean the launch of the 5G iPhone SE, there’s a good chance Apple will launch something else, if not any other new hardware.

Since this event is so far away, the only thing we can focus on right now is the next iPhone SE. That’s what Apple is focusing on right now, Gurman said. There have been several reports about the third iteration of the iPhone SE, and almost every one has pointed to the possibility of it supporting 5G. The name of this model oscillates between the iPhone SE 3 and the iPhone SE 5G, which is why this upcoming iPhone SE model will have a different name.

Why the iPhone SE 3 matters
Call it the iPhone SE 5G or the iPhone SE 3, and Apple’s next affordable iPhone will be a big deal for markets like India. During last year’s earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook emphasized that the iPhone SE has become a best-seller in markets like India, so it definitely makes sense to continue with the lineup. The 5G iPhone SE will boost sales as the initial 5G rollout in India is set to begin this year.

iPhone SE 3 Details
Beyond 5G, the design of the iPhone SE 3 has been a topic of debate. While initial rumors suggested the next iPhone SE would look like the iPhone XR – with a notched display and a single camera on the back, some recent reports suggest it will retain the same old design, borrowed from the iPhone 8. If that happens, the design will take three generations, which is effectively outdated. Despite the promise of 5G, it could be a deal breaker for many users.

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also said that the next iPhone SE model will not look like the iPhone XR, but will use the same iPhone 8 design. Therefore, the hardware of the phone will be significantly improved as the design is not improved. For example, the iPhone SE 3 is said to use a new chip — likely the A15 Bionic that powers the iPhone 13 series. That also means 5G.

Diljit then sang a song on Guru Nanak, as PM Modi listened intently, beating the adjacent table like a dholak, matching his beats with Diljit’s.
