Nikon Z9 Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera With 45.7-Megapixel CMOS Sensor, 8K Video Recording Launched in India

The Nikon Z9 full-frame mirrorless camera was launched in India on Friday, October 29th. The flagship (Nikon FX format) Z series camera is equipped with a 45.7 megapixel stacked CMOS sensor, a 3.2-inch touch screen display and an electronic viewfinder. The Nikon Z9 is equipped with interchangeable lenses and uses i-TTL balanced fill flash, which uses facial information for flash control. The new Nikon camera supports 8K 30p video shooting with a continuous recording time of up to 125 minutes.

Nikon claims that the Nikon Z9’s subject detection algorithm distinguishes nine types of subjects when capturing still images and videos.

It will be available in Nikon authorized stores in India starting in November. Nikon Z9 is equipped with a 3.2-inch diagonal display and 45.7 megapixel stacked CMOS sensor, using dual-stream technology, 8,256 × 5,504 pixel resolution and Expeed 7 image processing engine. The TFT LCD touch screen display provides a 70-degree viewing angle, approximately 100% frame coverage and color balance. It also comes with 11 levels of manual brightness control.

The 4-axis vertical and horizontal tilt display also integrates a vertical handle. The CMOS sensor has a size of 35.9×23.9 mm and an ISO range of 64 to 24,600. Nikon stated that the Nikon Z9 can record 8K 30p continuously for 125 minutes. It also allows 4K UHD video recording up to 120p. The camera is said to use Nikkor Z-series lenses and 94 Nikkor F-series lenses to capture 120 frames per second. Nikon says this allows the device to capture motion at a faster rate than the human eye can see.

It is said that Z9 can also shoot continuously at 20fps and capture more than 1,000 frames in JPEG or RAW format, even if it is turned on to reduce flicker. It is said that the subject detection algorithm of Nikon Z9 can simultaneously recognize nine types of objects including people, cats, dogs, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes and trains when shooting still photos or videos. The camera supports USB power supply and USB charging, with HDMI output function.
