The President of Bharat Shri Ram Nath Kovind awarded the President’s colors to the Corps of Army Air Defence at Gopalpur Military Station. The President’s colors were received by Army AD Centre on behalf of the Corps of Army Air Defence.
The President’s colors are that the highest honour conferred upon a regiment of the military in recognition of their priceless contribution to the safety of the state throughout peace and hostilities. throughout war II, the Air Defence troops participated in varied operations just like the Asian country campaign, military blockade of Imphal and Kohima, recapture of Rangoon, operations in Myitkiyina, Hongkong, Singapore, Malaya, Bahrain, Iraq, and Persia and won multiple gallantry awards specifically four Military Crosses, one award of nation Empire, seven Indian Distinguished Service Medals and 2 Orders of nation Empire. The Corps has, to date, been awarded 2 Ashoka Chakras, 2 Kirti Chakras, twenty Vir Chakras, 9 Shaurya Chakras, 113 Sena Medals, and fifty-five Mention-in-Despatches additionally to four battle honours awarded throughout the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war.
The President has conferred the Rashtriya Salute at the commencement of a formidable parade semiconductor diode by the contingent.
