Redmi K50 Series Tipped to Feature Both MediaTek Dimensity and Snapdragon SoCs

The Redmi K50 series is said to be under development. According to the whistleblower, the upcoming Redmi K series flagship smartphone will use four different processors-two from MediaTek and two from Qualcomm. The reminder also mentioned that all four models of the Redmi K50 series will be pre-installed with the new MIUI 13. The two MediaTek chipsets mentioned are MediaTek Dimensity 7000 and Dimensity 9000. The former has not yet been launched by Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturers.

Tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the processor that the upcoming Redmi K50 series smartphones will be equipped with. The prompter mentioned four processors-the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 7000 SoC, the recently launched MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, the Snapdragon 870 SoC, and the unreleased Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. According to hints, Redmi smartphones using Qualcomm chipsets will be faster than smartphones using MediaTek chipsets.

The digital chat station also hinted that the Redmi K50 series smartphones will be pre-installed with MIUI 13. However, whether they will get a new MIUI based on Android 11 or Android 12 is still inconclusive. Earlier this month, news broke that the Redmi K50 Game Standard Edition and Redmi K50 Game Professional Edition will be codenamed Matisse (based on French artist Henri Matisse) and Rubens (based on German artist Peter Paul Rubens). The former is said to use L11A as the internal code, while the latter uses L10 as the internal code.

According to the whistleblower, the Redmi K50 game standard version will be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 7000 SoC, and Redmi K50 Pro will be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. It is said that the former is also equipped with a triple rear camera with a 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GW3 sensor.

On the other hand, it is reported that Redmi K50 Pro will be sold globally under the Poco brand, presumably Poco F4 GT or Poco F3 GT. It is said that it also has a 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate with Goodix and FPC fingerprint sensors. It may have a quad rear camera setup, and the title may be a 64-megapixel Sony Exmor IMX686 sensor.
