According to Vijay Sethupathi, the female actor may also decide to decline. The next film starring Vijay is MahaRaja.
Vijay Sethupathi has no intention of restating his views on the same subject. When the actor was answering questions about heroes who work with younger heroines, it was during a MahaRaja promotional event. Indian Express reports that Vijay stated he has already discussed this subject and ended by asking people to “please leave it.”
What Vijay expressed
When a reporter questioned Vijay on this subject during the interview, he responded, “I have previously spoken about it. After I costarred with Krithi Shetty in Uppenna in 2021, a director suggested that we approach her about playing a heroine in another movie. I declined as I had requested that she think of me as her father in the Uppenna movie’s climactic scene. Thus, I declined.
The choice of whether or not to co-star in a movie with the hero is ultimately up to the female actress, according to Vijay, who continued, “What if she had told me that she doesn’t want to act with me because ‘this man has asked me to consider him as dad’?” She is also capable of saying no. I’ve already responded to this query. Kindly let it go.
More information
During the press conference, Vijay showered Pawan Kalyan with compliments, stating that he is not only a popular hero in movies but also in real life. In the recent Andhra Pradesh assembly and Lok Sabha elections, Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party scored a 100% strike rate by capturing all 21 assembly seats and both the Lok Sabha seats it contested as part of an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party and Bharatiya Janata Party.
In the meantime, Vijay is getting ready for the premiere of MahaRaja, his 50th movie. Vijay and Anurag Kashyap will play the main characters in the Nithilan Saminathan-directed movie. The movie will be available on June 14.
In the Indian film industry, it’s common for male actors to be paired with significantly younger female co-stars. Vijay Sethupathi, a prominent figure in Tamil cinema, has addressed this trend in various interviews. He emphasizes that the essence of acting lies in the authenticity and depth an actor brings to a role, rather than the age disparity between co-stars.
Sethupathi believes that both stars and actors share the same responsibility in delivering genuine performances. He challenges the notion that established stars can rely solely on their fame, asserting that every role demands dedication and sincerity. This perspective underscores his commitment to the craft and his respect for co-actors, regardless of age.
In his career, Sethupathi has collaborated with actresses across various age groups, focusing on the narrative’s requirements rather than societal expectations. This approach reflects his dedication to storytelling and his desire to break away from conventional casting norms.

By advocating for a more nuanced understanding of casting dynamics, Sethupathi encourages the industry considerations. His stance promotes a more inclusive and realistic portrayal of relationships on screen, resonating with audiences seeking authenticity in cinema.
