The Queen is put to her greatest test in the fifth season of The Crown as Princess Diana puts the status quo in jeopardy.
On Thursday night, Netflix unveiled the highly anticipated season 5 trailer for the drama series The Crown. With the start of a new season, the programme, which follows Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, moves into the late 1980s and 1990s and gives the late Princess Diana a bigger role. The impact of scandals and family feuds on the Windsors is seen in the teaser, despite the Queen’s best efforts to diffuse the situation.
The opening scene of the trailer shows Queen Elizabeth II gazing at a blazing structure before inspecting its burned-out ruins; this is most likely a reference to the 1987 King’s Cross fire, which claimed 31 lives. The royal family is in a real dilemma, a news announcer can be heard saying, while another asks, “Have royal scandals hurt the country’s reputation?” We catch a glimpse of the Queen berating Princess Diana and Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace. The season focuses on Charles and Diana’s marriage disintegrating and his liaison with Camilla Parker Bowles.
The Queen responds, “I don’t think my behaviour is jeopardising its survival,” to Charles’ argument that a “modern monarchy” is necessary. This is shown in the trailer. “I never stood a chance,” Diana is heard lamenting in the clip as she struggles to live within the constraints of the royal family and her troubled marriage. Additionally, it reveals that Charles and Camilla are getting closer. In the final few seconds of the trailer, Princess Diana is heard saying, “I won’t go softly. I’ll fight to the very end. Charles screams in frustration, “What is she doing? “

Kangana Ranaut has denied speculations about joining politics solely due to the box office failure of her films.
Kangana Ranaut, the BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi for the 2024 elections, expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her political entrance. In an interview with Times Now, she questioned whether she joined politics due to her movies’ poor box office performance, comparing it to Shah Rukh Khan’s previous unsuccessful films.

Kangana responded to a question about her career, stating that she has never had a flop. She compared Shah Rukh Khan’s films to Pathaan, Queen, and Manikarnika, noting that if she had a flop in Emergency, it would be a big hit. Kangana compared her career to Shah Rukh Khan, who had consecutive flops for ten years. She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.
No stars from OTT?
The last generation of stars, known for their talent and demand, are now able to showcase their talents more through OTT. However, the author expresses a desire to involve themselves more with the real world, rather than being consumed by the arts, stating that they are not satisfied with the current status quo.
