Year in review: 5 changes at Apple in 2021

In the technology world, Apple is considered more than just a technology brand. It is an institution in itself that can perfectly balance public appeal and out-of-the-box thinking. Although things have changed under Tim Cook’s leadership, the core philosophy set by the late Steve Jobs remains the same. As a company closely watched by Wall Street and consumers, despite facing challenges from external forces, including the pandemic and increasing pressure from regulatory agencies, Apple has had a successful year. Although the world has begun to speculate about which products the Cupertino giant will launch next year and beyond, certain things we have observed this year not only tell us about Apple’s product strategy, but also give us a glimpse of the company’s vision for the future. Some people within Apple are very concerned about “mini” products and hope that the company will solve the market segment that still wants to use small-sized devices. The often misunderstood message is that these products are made only because a company with ample cash like Apple can take risks and is not too concerned about the business prospects. This is not how Apple works. Designing a product like the iPhone 13 mini is more complicated, because you know that it is difficult to install a larger battery in a small space, but the first task is to provide battery life that lasts a whole day. For example, the new iPad mini may look like a miniature version of the iPad Air, but the design of the mini indicates that it may become a product of a foldable device in the near future. In their current form, both the iPhone 13 mini and iPad mini are available devices, but they are also highly experimental in nature. In addition to laying the foundation for the new form factor, devices such as the iPhone 13 mini and iPad mini also give Apple an advantage over the competition because its competitors do not currently sell such devices.

Although Apple has provided “mini” branded devices in the past, the focus this time is on launching a series of products, including HomePod mini and Mac mini for specific use cases and users. The idea is to avoid associating them as “affordable” devices, even if in some cases the product is an entry point into the Apple ecosystem.

Diljit added, “The greatest magic in India is yoga.” PM Modi agreed, saying, “Those who have experienced yoga know its power.”

The singer-actor also admired PM Modi’s personal journey, saying, “I had watched your interview, sir. The position of Prime Minister is great, but behind it, there is a mother, a son, and a human being. Diljit then sang a song on Guru Nanak, as PM Modi listened intently, beating the adjacent table like a dholak, matching his beats with Diljit’s.
