Shilpa Shetty remembers her mother calling her “nikammi” and “completely useless.”

Shilpa Shetty, whose next film is titled Nikamma, recently remarked about being branded a ‘nikammi’ in a new interview. In the action comedy, which also stars Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia, the actor plays Agni, a superhero. Agni transforms Abhimanyu’s ‘nikamma’ (lazy) persona Siddharth into a responsible man in the film.

When asked if her father Surendra Shetty or mother Sunanda Shetty had ever nicknamed her ‘nikammi,’ Shilpa answered it was her mother who used the term. Sunanda lost her temper after seeing her prelims report, calling her “totally useless” and “nikammi,” Shilpa remembered.

She said to ETimes, “It happened to me when my mother saw my preliminary exam results right before my SSC exam. I had received a dismal score of 48 percent. I used to play volleyball. I was more interested in extracurricular activities, and I was chosen as a volleyball player for the Bombay zone. My mother, on the other hand, wept for the first time when she saw my results. She predicted that you’d be completely useless, worthless, and nikammi.”

Shilpa also expressed her feelings about her mother’s outburst. “She stated,” she explained “My life goal at the time was to become a volleyball coach, so I thought I had it all figured out. But, when I realised my mother was worried about my grades and the fact that I was a nikammi, I studied hard for ten days and got a good grade.” Shilpa’s mother was relieved, so everything was OK.

Nikamma, directed by Sabbir Khan, will be released in theatres on June 17. She recently appeared in the romance comedy Hungama 2 in 2021, which marked her 14-year return to the big screen. Nikamma, not Hungama 2, was supposed to be her comeback, she recently told Mashable India.

Fahadh Faasil says he doesn’t see himself as a pan-India celebrity and refers to Ranbir Kapoor as the “best actor in the country.”

According to Fahadh Faasil, he is in regular contact with pals from the Hindi film business. He also disclosed his intentions to direct a Hindi movie.

In a recent interview, Fahadh Faasil discussed his experience working in Hindi films.

Fahadh Faasil finds Ranbir Kapoor’s performances to be impressive. Ranbir was dubbed the “best actor in the country” by Fahadh in a recent interview with Film Companion. In addition, Fahadh discussed his feelings on being called a pan-Indian celebrity, stating that he is merely an actor who wants to work in films that he enjoys.

What Fahadh mentioned

When questioned about the influence of his films and his reputation as an actor, Fahadh responded in the interview, “I have to be honest. I don’t have to hide anything.” Here, I’m working on my stuff. With no offence intended. People don’t seem to anticipate magic from Pushpa or from me. It’s an act of true love and cooperation for Suku [Sukumar] Sir. This is where my stuff is. Quite evidently. I don’t get it because, along with many of my friends here, I think Vicky Kaushal is the best discovery of the decade. Among the best actors India has ever produced is Rajkummar Rao. I mean, Ranbir Kapoor is the finest actor in the nation. I’m not sure what people perceive in me, then.

Concerning one’s status as a pan-Indian celebrity

Fahadh also discussed his opinions on being viewed as a pan-Indian celebrity. “No, I’m just an actor,” he continued. I’m not involved with pan-Indian affairs. I simply go about my business. because I act on my convictions, because the notion is that films never make money. That’s just a side note. However, I am unable to complete the films I work on here anyplace else. In addition, he mentioned that he is excited to see what the public will learn from the movie and that he wants to talk to them when it is out.

Fahadh lately received a lot of praise for his role in Aavesham. The film, which was directed by Jithu Madhavan, centres on a traditional fish-out-of-water situation in which three college students become involved in unforeseen events. In the movie, Fahadh portrays an eccentric don who lives in Bengaluru. The Rule, Pushpa 2, will be his next film to be viewed.

Ranbir, meantime, was last seen in Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which ended up becoming one of his biggest hits to date. He and Sai Pallavi will soon be seen together in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. Actors’ on-set photos recently surfaced online and quickly gained popularity. He is also working on Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
