Former US President Bill Clinton admitted to hospital
Former President Bill Clinton’s doctor told CNN on Thursday that his doctor had entered the intensive care unit of the University of California Irvine Medical Center with a urinary tract infection and spread to his blood. Dr.
Alpesh Amin, medical director of the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, issued a joint statement on Thursday evening, saying: “He was sent to the ICU for close monitoring and received intravenous antibiotics and fluids. He is still under continuous monitoring in the hospital.” Dr. Lisa Badak, Clinton’s personal attending physician. They said that Clinton was in the ICU for privacy and safety, not because he needed intensive care. According to his doctors and staff, Clinton is in good spirits, talking with his family and staff, and has been walking. “After two days of treatment, his white blood cell count showed a downward trend, and he responded well to antibiotics,” the doctor said. “We hope he can go home as soon as possible.” According to his office, Clinton was attending a private event for his foundation in California.
He felt tired on Tuesday and was taken to the hospital after being tested. The former president’s doctor said that urinary system infections are common among the elderly and easy to treat, but they can spread quickly into the bloodstream. Clinton will receive intravenous antibiotics by Friday, at which time he may switch to oral antibiotics. The doctor said that his important measurements are stable. Clinton, 75, underwent four heart bypass operations in 2004 and inserted two stents to open an artery in 2010. But his doctor emphasized that his hospitalization had nothing to do with the heart or Covid-19.
Clinton spokesman Angel Urena said on Thursday that the former president was “improving” and “in good spirits.” “On Tuesday night, President Clinton was admitted to the UCI Medical Center to receive treatment for non-Covid-related infections. He is recovering and is in good spirits. I am very grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff who provided him with treatment for their good care,” Ulay Na said.
