Priyanka reacts to comedian’s apology in which she called her ‘Chopra wife’

Priyanka Chopra shared a note on her Instagram Stories slamming comedian Rosie O’Donnell for not apologizing for mistaking the actor for the daughter of famous American author Deepak Chopra. Rossi referred to Priyanka with terms like “Nick Jonas’ wife,” “Somebody from Chopra,” and even “Chopra’s wife,” while apologizing to her for the “embarrassing” encounter.

Priyanka Chopra is the daughter of the late Dr. Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra. Priyanka’s father was a doctor in the Indian Army.

In the note, Priyanka said: “Hi everyone. Some thoughts…I never took myself seriously, believing that anyone would know who I am, or what I do. But if you want to be very private Apologizing publicly for embarrassing things, I think it’s best to take the time to Google my name before doing so, or even try to get in touch directly. We should all be respected for our unique personalities, not specifically called in a sincere apology “Someone” or “wife.” The world in which we will raise our children would be great if we could learn to respect our differences in an authentic way.”

She further added: “Also, PS – as I said, not all Chopras are related to the great Deepak, just like not all Smiths are related to the legendary Will Smith.”

Priyanka’s husband Nick Jonas welcomed her to his Instagram Stories by responding to the note, saying, “Well said, my love.”

Rosie O’Donnell shared a TikTok video on Instagram Sunday in which she discusses her encounter with Priyanka and Nick at a Malibu restaurant. She claims she reached out to the couple to say hello. She said: “So when I said, ‘Hi Nick Jonas, you’re great in the kingdom’ and ‘Hi (Pryanka), I know your father.’ She said, ‘You know what? My father? I was like Deepak. She said, ‘No, Chopra is a common name,’ and I was embarrassed.”

Sharing the incident, she asked her fans if she was the only one who mistook Priyanka for Deepak Chopra’s daughter. She apologized to Priyanka and Nick for greeting her so awkwardly, saying, “Nick Jonas, I apologize, and I also apologize to Chopra’s wife.”

Priyanka’s fans slammed the comedian for not knowing who she is and calling her Nick’s wife instead of calling her by her first name. One fan commented on Rosie’s video: “Oops. This is absolutely very embarrassing. Poor Priyanka. I’ll probably know her name before I record it.” Another said, “You’re the only one People who think so.”
