The drawbacks of being a celebrity child, according to Abhimanyu Dassani: “Got hostile texts”

When Abhimanyu Dassani, the son of actor Bhagyashree, entered Bollywood, he stated he encountered the drawbacks of being a famous kid. The actor, who made his acting debut in 2018 with the action comedy Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, said he received numerous hateful messages telling him he didn’t belong in the industry.

Abhimanyu studied at the New York Film Academy and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute before making his debut. He also worked with filmmaker Rohan Sippy on Dum Maaro Dum and Nautanki Saala! In a new interview, he stated that he believes he has the disadvantages of both being a ‘insider’ and a ‘outsider.’

When asked if the argument against nepotism may be unpleasant at times, he admitted that it can. According to Abhimanyu, who spoke to Bollywood Hungama, “Without a doubt. Hundreds of texts have been sent to me, abusing me and telling me that I don’t belong here. It still happens, and I find it a little selfish to feel the need to prove myself to someone who doesn’t know much about movies. But it’s fine; I suppose it’s all part of the game. I’ve experienced all of the drawbacks of being a ‘insider,’ as well as the drawbacks of being a ‘outsider.’”

Abhimanyu also discussed his resolve not to receive money from his parents when he turned 15 and his decision to travel on foot when he ran out of money for a rickshaw.

“Everyone has gone through that moment in life where they don’t have a direction, where they don’t know who they are,” he remarked. The sooner this occurs, the better. I bounced about from one activity to the next trying to figure out where I fit in, and I ended up assisting on set. I stopped collecting money from my parents when I was 15 years old. I didn’t have enough money to hire a personal trainer or buy protein or anything like that to build a body. I was a vegetarian, so I started with eggs and worked my way up.

Nikamma, Abhimanyu’s third film, is set to be released soon. Shilpa Shetty and Shirley Setia also star in Sabbir Khan’s action comedy.
