Sheila Dikshit occasionally anglicized Dixit, was an Indian politician and stateswoman. One of the longest-serving chief ministers of Delhi, as well as the longest-serving female chief minister of any Indian state,

1) Sheila Dikshit (31 March 1938 – 20 July 2019) was an Indian politician who was one of the longest-serving chief ministers of Delhi.

2) There were many interesting aspects to former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s life.

3) She fell in love in college. There was an interesting twist in her love story when her future husband Vinod Dikshit proposed to her inside a DTC bus.

4) Dikshit has a postgraduate in History from Miranda House, Delhi University. She is also a Doctorate in Philosophy from the Delhi University.

5) Dikshit was nominated as a representative for the Indian delegation of the United Nations Commission by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who acknowledged her administrative skills.

6) represented India at the United Nations from 1984-1989.

7) Dikshit was appointed as a minister in the central government led by then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1984.

8) She also served as a Union Minister for a period of four years from 1986 to 1989.

9) Dikshit was imprisoned for 23 days along with 82 colleagues by the state government in 1990 when she led a drive against violence against women.

10) She also set up two hostels for working women in Delhi while serving as chairperson of the Young Women’s Association.

11) She has received several awards. These include ‘Best Chief Minister of India’, by Journalist Association of India in 2008, ‘Politician of the Year’ by NDTV in 2009 and ‘Delhi Women of the Decade Achievers Award 2013’ by the ALL Ladies League for Outstanding Public Service in 2013.

Kangana Ranaut has denied speculations about joining politics solely due to the box office failure of her films.

Kangana Ranaut, the BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi for the 2024 elections, expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her political entrance. In an interview with Times Now, she questioned whether she joined politics due to her movies’ poor box office performance, comparing it to Shah Rukh Khan’s previous unsuccessful films.

Reacting to her films’ box office failure, Kangana Ranaut

Kangana responded to a question about her career, stating that she has never had a flop. She compared Shah Rukh Khan’s films to Pathaan, Queen, and Manikarnika, noting that if she had a flop in Emergency, it would be a big hit. Kangana compared her career to Shah Rukh Khan, who had consecutive flops for ten years. She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.

No stars from OTT?

The last generation of stars, known for their talent and demand, are now able to showcase their talents more through OTT.
