In response to criticism for labelling Forrest Gump a “classist film,” Kareena Kapoor

After calling the Academy Award-winning movie Forrest Gump “an elitist kind of classist film,” actor Kareena Kapoor received criticism from some users on social media. Kareena claimed in a recent interview that she avoids Twitter because of the “one reason or another” why people troll actors. Kareena also explained her reasoning for mentioning Forrest Gump.

Kareena will appear in Laal Singh Chaddha, the official Forrest Gump translation in Hindi (1994). Forrest Gump, a film starring Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson, and Sally Field, was directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Eric Roth.

In an interview with News18, Kareena said, “Every day, we get trolled for one reason or another. Because of this, I don’t use Twitter. It seems to be intended for those who want to keep venting, and I don’t have time for that. With my kids, family, and job, I’m very busy. I can’t fit everything else in.

She also discussed her statement regarding Forrest Gump: “Somebody who probably doesn’t speak English will watch the film for their love of the story that they’ve come to know from the trailer and not because it’s a remake of a Hollywood film.” To allow viewers to watch and enjoy it in their own language, it is also being dubbed in Tamil and Telugu.

Kareena recently stated, “There are still a lot of people who still haven’t seen Forrest Gump,” in an interview with News18. Forrest Gump would not have been seen by the general public. It is a film that is classist in an elitist way. Since the majority of people haven’t seen it, they will watch it for the story. They won’t watch it because it is a Forrest Gump remake. Of course, Aamir (Khan) made it for that, but people would also like to see this story.

People on social media platforms expressed shock following her remark. “The reason I believe education is important,” someone tweeted. Another person added, “These individuals undercut the masses. We can now watch “elitist” movies at home thanks to OTT.

Any trash cannot compete with time and curiosity. I mean she says this for a mainstream movie, a Twitter user added.

On August 11, Laal Singh Chaddha is scheduled to arrive in theatres. The movie also stars Aamir Khan, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya in addition to Kareena. Aamir Khan Productions, Kiran Rao, and Viacom18 Studios worked together to produce the movie. The Laal Singh Chaddha team just revealed that six months after its premiere, the movie will be accessible via OTT.

Sonakshi Sinha admits on The Great Indian Kapil Show that, when given Alia and Kiara’s example, “mujhe zor se shaadi karni hai.”

Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal—the cast of Heeramandi—will be the show’s guests.

The female cast of Heeramandi, Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh will be featured in an upcoming episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show. In a new trailer for the episode that Netflix India unveiled on Wednesday, Kapil was seen making fun of Sonakshi’s wedding preparations.

The Heeramandi cast was seen in the teaser queue for panipuri at the stand, where Kapil was the vendor. “Bhaiya, sab ke liye paanipuri (serve for everyone)!” Sonakshi begs. In response, Kapil states that none of them would be served since they are not the ones who will call him “brother” or “bhaiya.”

Richa required the most retakes overall.

Manisha Koirala claims in another scene that there was anxiety before every scene on the set. The cast is then questioned by Richa about how many retakes they had ever had. Sonakshi responds that she didn’t need more than 12 tries. Everyone is shocked to learn that Richa offered 99 retakes in her response. Kiku Sharda made an appearance in one episode dressed like a courtesan, and his antics made everyone laugh.

As this is happening, Kapil informs Sonakshi that Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani are now wed. “Jale pe namak chirak rahe ho,” is her response. He knows how much I want to be married, therefore you are adding salt to my wounds, woh janta hei mujhe kitne zor se shaadi karni he.”

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the director of Heeramandi, which debuted on Netflix on May 1. The show tells the tales of courtesans and their clients against the turbulent backdrop of the 1940s Indian freedom movement, exploring the cultural milieu of the vibrant Heeramandi region.

You can watch The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix.
