Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra announced: What’s same, what’s not, key features, inside the box and more

Samsung has announced its flagship phones for 2022 – the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra. All three phones come with top-of-the-line specs. Among them, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the best quality of the three devices. The Galaxy Note-inspired device supports the S Pen and has state-of-the-art features. Meanwhile, it also has specs shared with the other two brothers. All three new Samsung smartphones are up for pre-order in the US. However, as of now, there are no details on its India price and availability. The phones are likely to go on sale in the Indian market in March. Here are all the specs and other details of Samsung’s three new high-end phones.

The Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra run on the same processor. While the US, UK, and European models run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, the Indian variant is likely to run on a Samsung-made Exynos 2200 SoC.

Just like the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, only the Galaxy S22 Ultra supports the S Pen. The biggest difference is that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra now has S Pen support built in. Samsung also claims other enhancements to the S Pen.

Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus are available in 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB options. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes in 8GB/128GB, 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB and 12GB/1TB. Samsung brought back the 8GB/128GB model with the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Unlike the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung will reuse glass on all three Galaxy S series models. All three phones have Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus on the back and front. All three phones have aluminum frames.

As always, one key difference between the three phones is the display size. The Samsung Galaxy S22 has a 6.1-inch screen, the S22 Plus has a 6.5-inch screen, and the S22 Ultra has a 6.8-inch screen. All three products feature Samsung’s new display technology, Dynamic AMOLED 2X. All models support refresh rates up to 120Hz.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra features a new design that appears to be inspired by the Galaxy Note series. It has square edges and a curved screen. The other two models, the S22 and S22 Plus, have essentially the same design as the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus.

Surfaces of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra with Snapdragon 8S Gen 3

Early this week, renders of the Edge 50 Fusion appeared, and Motorola has previously stated that the Edge 50 Pro will ship on April 3. The highest-end smartphone in the Edge 50 series, the Edge 50 Ultra, has now been shown in renders.

The phone is depicted in the renderings in peach fuzz and black with a vegan leather finish, while sisal, a beige color, will have a brushed surface. As opposed to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 in the Pro variant and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in the Edge 50 Fusion, the phone is reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.

A 50MP primary camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a periscope telephoto camera with a 5x optical zoom are all included in the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra’s feature set. Additionally, there is a triple LED flash on the right side and a laser autofocus feature above the periscope lens.

Although the phone’s display, battery, and charging specifications are yet unknown, the Edge 50 Pro is said to include 12GB of RAM and support both 50W and 125W wired and wireless charging.

It is anticipated that this will launch as the Motorola X50 Ultra in China. It is unclear if the India launch may be expected on the same day as the rest of the Edge 50 series phones, even if this is scheduled to go official on April 3.
